Voxel Print
A downloadable game
This tool is in very early development. Please be aware there will be bugs!
Voxel Print is an early creative sandbox for building voxel models and custom toy bricks in VR. Build and paint your own designs, save your projects, and export OBJ or 3MF files for 3D printing.
This prototype is free to download, with optional donations. I’m sharing it to gather feedback—please leave a comment with bugs, confusing controls, or features you’d like to see.
Requirements
Voxel Print has been tested on a Windows 11 PC with a Meta Quest 3 connected through Meta Quest Link. You’ll need a PC capable of running PC VR and your headset’s controllers.
This is a Windows PC VR download. Keyboard and mouse controls are experimental; the tested experience is VR. A 3D printer is optional and only needed to make physical copies of your creations.
Getting started
- Download the ZIP and extract the entire folder. Keep the executable and its supporting files together.
- Connect your Quest 3 through Meta Quest Link and enter PC VR.
- Launch VoxelPrint.exe from the extracted folder.
- Point at menu buttons and press and release the controller trigger to select them.
- Use either controller’s trigger to place blocks and grip to remove blocks. Choose colors and building tools on the control screen.
- Press the left controller menu button or click the left thumbstick to open Quick Tools, including Paint, Undo/Redo, and Save.
- To create a custom brick, open Toy Bricks and select Start Brick. Use Export OBJ or Export 3MF to prepare your model for printing.
A controls guide is included in the ZIP, with Quest 3 controls, keyboard shortcuts, and instructions for saving and exporting.
Optional AI features
The core building, painting, saving, and exporting tools do not require AI accounts or API keys. You can build manually and import existing OBJ models without using AI generation.
- AI model generation: Generate reference models and building guides from text or images using Meshy. This requires your own Meshy account, API key, and available API credits. Generation consumes credits and has separate service costs. Meshy pricing
- Voice input: The app can use free Windows dictation when available. This requires microphone access and Windows online speech recognition. You can also type instead of using voice input.
- Paid voice fallback: If Windows dictation is unavailable, API-based transcription requires your own OpenAI API key and incurs usage charges. OpenAI pricing
To configure optional API keys, press F10 in the desktop game window. Third-party service charges are separate from Voxel Print.
